Our Heros

We think having heroes is pretty important so we’ve got a few that we’d like to tell you about. These people are living, breathing examples of LaunchPad’s values and have come on board in different ways to help us spread the word. Read on people…

Lydia Lassila

Lydia Lassila (born 17 January 1982, in Melbourne) is an Australian Olympic freestyle skier and gold medalist who competed in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. On 20 October 2010, Lydia was awarded by the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame the prestigious The Don award, recognising her ability to inspire as well as her achievements during 2010.

Here's what Lydia reckons...

"LaunchPad is a great initiative. It's awesome to see kids have a great time through movement and fun activities and at the same time, they get a chance to explore and challenge themselves. After all, that's what kids are meant to do!"
